The diocesan Office of Safe Environment is responsible for educating all clergy, members of a religious order, parish and diocesan employees, including those who have no con‐ tact with children, young people, or vulnerable adults; and adult volunteers whose ministry or role places them in regular contact with children, young people, or vulnerable adults about the prevention of sexual abuse. The required Safe Environment training also teaches attendees how to recognize predatory behaviors, and review proper boundaries, and maintain a culture of awareness, knowledge, and vigilance for those entrusted in our care. Interested parents are also encouraged to attend.

A Safe Environment recertification training session is scheduled on Monday, August 28 from 6:00-7:30pm in St. Augustine's Gathering Room. There is also a Safe Environment initial certification training session on Friday, August 25 from 6:00-8:00pm at St. Augustine's Gathering Room.
